24 Week Check Up

Today I had my 24 week check up and had to do my blood sugar test to check for gestational diabetes.  After drinking the glucola an hour before my appointment they pricked my finger and checked my blood.  I passed the test with a 125, the nurse said anything under 129 was good.  My iron was also good at 11.5.  My blood pressure was good at 124/75.  All of my measurements have checked out so far even my weight, I have only gain 13 pounds since I was five weeks along.  The doctor said that was good and not too much at this point.  The doctor also measured my belly for the first time and it was 24cm big, which is right where I am supposed to be.  The nurse also did the doppler to here Cameron's heartbeat and it was at 147bpm and the nurse said she could feel him push back against the wand.  Everything checked out great and I have my last four week check up on May 17th, then I go every 2 weeks.  I can't believe how fast it has gone already, but I am excited for Cameron to be here.  I also reschedule our birthing class today, because the other time didn't work for us and all they have available for Saturday times is July 9th.  I am hoping someone cancels an earlier time, because I will probably be very uncomfortable when it comes to anytime in July, but we will see.  I will keep you all updated on any other exciting updates on the nursery or anything else in the Townsend household.

Another Busy Weekend

Jason and I had another very busy weekend.  Saturday, I did laundry all, cleaned my clothes out that I won't be wearing this summer, and my winter clothes and brought them all downstairs and put maternity clothes in my closet.  While I was doing that Jason replaced the wax ring on the toilet in my bathroom, because it had been leaking.  We also picked up the baby mattress and did some other errands.  We ate some dinner and at 7:45pm we started putting together our crib and changer.  We finished that at 10pm and we were both exhausted, but I have to say it wasn't too bad of a job.  This morning we started on the dresser about 10:30ish and that was not as smooth as the crib.  I had misunderstood some of the directions which made Jason a little frustrated.  The first mistake I made was I didn't put any of the lock washers on any of the bolts that pretty much held the dresser together.  In my defense though, in the written instructions it said nothing about the washers, it was only in the diagrams that it had the washers.   So that was my first mistake.  My second mistake was I used the wrong screws to put the back on the dresser, I used longer ones that were supposed to be used to put the drawers together, so when we started on the drawers the shorter screws weren't long enough to keep the drawers together, so Jason took al the screws off the back of the dresser and replaced them.  His patience was running a little thin, but we both survived and I think that was a good test on both of our patience for the future.  Haha!  So once we got the furniture together, Jason went to the gym and mowed the lawn while I put Cameron's Nursery together, dusted, swept, and painted the letters that we are putting in Cameron's room as well.  So we have definately had a very busy weekend and are exhausted.  So now we are headed to Chipotle for some dinner and relaxation on the couch, but I did want to post some pictures so everyone can see the beginnings of the nursery.  I hope you all enjoy.  Can't wait for little Cameron to be here.  Only 16 weeks to go!!!

Busy Little Sunday

Yesterday we got back home from being in Ironton for the weekend and had a lot of things to do.  I finished switching out all the receptacles in the basement and picked up all the things that no longer needed to be in there so I could vacuum the carpet.  Jason finished putting down the transition piece from the carpet to the laminate flooring and put the rest of the baseboards up.  Once we got all that we went to pick up our furniture for the babies room.  I am so excited to get the room together, but there are a few finishing touches in the basement before we can move our office down there, so hopefully it will happen this weekend.  Once we got that home we finished up a couple of other things then my parents came over to look at the basement and then Dad helped Jason carry the crib upstairs in the spare bedroom.  We finally got to sit down at about 9 o'clock last night and enjoy some Chipotle.  Jason also had to finish filling out paperwork for his new job which started today.  We finally made it to bed at 11pm.  Needless to say we are both exhausted from yesterday still.  Jason seems pretty excited about his new job after his first day and is looking forward to what's to come.  I will keep you updated on the progress of the basement and nursery and post pictures once they are completed.
