38 Weeks!

Well, we both left the doctors office a little bummed today.  I haven't made any progress from last week.  So definitely bummed.  Although, the good news is our little man is doing fine.  He scored another perfect score on his test.  His heart rate was 148bpm.  He has definitely grown since last time.  He now weighs 6 pounds 13 ounces, he still has a big head that measures 9.8cm and has a gestational age of 40 weeks.  His abdomen measurement is still small and has a gestational age of 35 weeks and 5 days.  His femur bone was also a little small and had a gestational age of 36 weeks.  So overall he his doing well, they just think he will have a big head and skinny body.  So we are both happy that he is doing well, just a little bummed that he won't be here soon.  I also asked the doctor a few other questions.  My B Strep Test was negative, so I won't have to have any antibiotics when I am in labor.  My other question was what happens if I don't have him by my due date, and she said they sometimes was 7-10 days.  I hope that isn't the case with me.  I don't think I can wait that long.  So please pray that progress happens between now and next week and I go into labor naturally.  Well, until next Tuesday or unless something changes between now and then.  Pray for some progress!!!  We did get one good shot with his hand in front of his face.  It makes his hands look big.  Enjoy!!!

37 Weeks!

Today was my ultrasound and doctors appointment.  Everything went great again with the ultrasound, he scored a perfect score of 8 out of 8.  He was pretty active and we got a couple of good shots from him with his hands in his mouth.  His heart rate was 145 bpm and everything looked good.  He is still head down but has flipped and is now facing my left him instead of my right hip.  Everything with me also went well,  blood pressure 122/82 and weight was also good.  I am now dialated to a 1/2 a centimeter but my cervix is still thick.  So hopefully we will make a little more progress next week.  I follow back up next Tuesday, so until then unless something drastic happens between now an then.  Enjoy the pictures!!!

Sunday July 17, 2011

Today we had a good day, we went to the pool and relaxed for a couple of hours, then came home and watched the USA women lose in the world cup, but Jason thought I was going to go into Labor, because I was so stressed out watching the game.  My feet and hands were all sweaty and my heart was probably beating pretty fast.  After that we decided to go out to dinner at Dave and Busters.  If you don't know that is the first place Jason and I met.  We have not been there together since the day we met a little over five years ago on May 25th, 2006.  We both remember that it had been raining and Jason was late, because he got lost, shocking I know.  I was in the parking lot waiting in my red Jetta and he pulled up in his silver BMW.  He brought me flowers, and I was very surprised.  We had a good dinner and enjoyed playing games that night.  I remember just being so excited after leaving our first date and couldn't stop smiling.  I never thought though that 5 years later we would be married for almost 3 years and have a baby on the way.  I can't believe it has been 5 years already since that day, but we have been blessed in so many ways these past 5 years and on so many adventures together.  I just look forward to the rest of our lives together and all the many more adventures to share with each other and our growing family.  Sorry this is a little mushy, but I just wanted to share with everyone.  I will update you all on Tuesday after I see the doctor.

36 Weeks!

Belly is getting bigger!
The past week we have been a little busy doing baby stuff.  On Saturday we went to our childbirth class.  The class was very informative and I am glad that we went.  Jason learned quite a bit as well and at the end of the day he said that he appreciates moms a lot more now.  So we will see how he does with the whole process when its my turn.  We also got to tour the Labor and Delivery rooms and they are pretty big and each one has its own whirlpool for relaxation if I want to use it.  We weren't able to view the postpartum rooms, because they were all full, but I am sure they are just as nice.  Sunday Jason and I got the babies bed adjusted, monitor installed, and mattress protectors on.  Yesterday all got the majority of Cameron's bedding all washed and put back on.
Today I had my ultrasound and doctors appointment.  Cameron was very active during the ultrasound and did everything he was supposed to do right away and scored a perfect 8 out of 8 on his test again.  His heart rate was 154 bpm.  We got some really good shots of him today.  He had his arms and hands up around his face today, so the ultrasound tech buzzed him a couple of times and we got to see a mix of emotions from him where he stuck his body lip out and looked like he was about to cry and then the next time he smiled.  We also got to see him open up an eye lid.  It was pretty cool and I am just excited for him to get here.  That's really all I think about and when I am not too tired I just like to go into his room and piddle around.  I started washing a lot of his clothes today as well, and the next load will probably be blankets.

When I saw the doctor today she did a culture for Strep B, so I guess I will get the results of that test next week.  I guess if I have that they just give me antibiotics when I am in labor.  She also checked to see if I was dialated any and she said my cervix is closed and thick, so no progress yet down there.  We will see next week.  My body is definately starting to change.  Monday morning I could barely walk my back and right hip hurt so bad from sleeping, I didn't feel much better until the afternoon.  I asked the doctor and she said I could take Tylenol for the pain, so I will definately be taking some if I feel like that again.  I also have been lactating a little bit only if my boobs get squished.  So I guess that is a good sign that I will have milk when Cameron decided to arrive.  I get more and more uncomfortable and definately find it more difficult to tye my shoes and bend over to pick something off the floor.  I am usually worn out by then end of the day and usually take a little nap when I get home from work.  I am also not liking this 90 plus degree weather right now and prefer to stay inside most of the time.  That's all the updates I have about myself.  I get another ultrasound and get checked by the doctor next Tuesday.  I hope you all enjoy the pictures.

35 Weeks

Today I am 35 Weeks and 5 days.  Only 4 weeks and 2 days to go.  If you can't tell I am starting to get very uncomfortable and ready for Cameron to get here.  This past weekend was the first time being outside in the humidity really got to me.  So my Fourth of July weekend was mainly spent inside in the air conditioning.  Hopefully next year will be a little more exciting.

Well, today we had just an ultrasound and everything went well.  He passed his little test again.  But he was being a little stubborn and in the beginning wasn't showing signs of practicing breathing.  The ultrasound tech said that they usually only practice about 20 minutes every hour, so we caught him at a bad time, but with 3 minutes to spare he started practicing breathing.  The ultrasound tech said if he didn't show signs when she was doing the ultrasound they would then have to hook me up to a monitor to make she he wasn't in distress.  But luckily everything was fine and he started to breath.

Yesterday Jason and I met with our Pediatrician.  We mainly talked with the nurse, and she informed us a lot about the practice, their hours, and how everything works.  I feel better knowing who we will be taking our baby to and that they are close to our house and open 7 days a week.  Also, that's another thing I can check off my list of things to do.  Which I still have quite a bit to do.  I still need to wash baby clothes and bedding, hang a few things on the walls in the babies room, pack hopsital bag, put glider together once it arrives which will hopefully be tomorrow, and probably other things that I am forgetting.  We are getting closer, just hopefully everything gets done before he arrives.  Another thing on that list is our birthing class which is this Saturday from 9:30 until 5 or hopefully more like 3ish from what a friend has told me.  That should be interesting, I may have to update this before next week just to discuss the class and Jason's reactions.  So if anything funny or entertaining happens be looking for a post Saturday evening.  If not I will post something after the ultrasound and doctors appointment next Tuesday.  I will also get checked to see if I have dialated any.  So they will definately be interesting to see.  Until next time!
