30 Weeks!

Well, today's checkup could have been better.  When the nurse brought me back to take my weight and blood pressure my blood pressure was 130/92, which I knew was high for me considering this whole time it has been in the low 120's over 70's.  When the doctor came in she had asked how I was feeling and I had mentioned that I had been getting leg cramps at night.  I also asked her about my blood pressure.  With those two concerns of mine she suggested that I get blood work done to check my potassium levels and to follow up in 1 week to make sure everything was okay.  Also, she wanted me to have an ultrasound next week as well to check the size of the baby, because my belly was measuring only 27cm today and should be at 30 cm.  She said we shouldb't be too concerned at this point, because it all depends on the way they are laying, but would like to get an ultrasound just to be sure.  So next week June 7th I have a follow up appointment wth the doctor to go over my bloodwork and to get another ultrasound.  Before I left my appointment she has a different nurse come in to take my blood pressure and it was back to normal at 118/74.  So that was good news, I think the first nurse just didn't take her time, because she just did it really quick.  So hopefully everything goes well next week and everything looks good.  Its better to be safe than sorry at this point.  Keep me and Baby Cameron in your thoughts and prayers between now and next week and hope that everything is okay.  Which I am sure it is, Baby Cameron is still very active and heart beat today was 145-150, good and strong.

28 Weeks!

Mommy-To-Be on Mother's Day
We have been very busy since the last post 4 weeks ago.  We have the nursery ready to go.  The only thing we need for it is a rocking chair, but my mom is giving us one that she just needs to get refinished, so hopefully she can get that ready before baby Cameron decides to come.  Along with getting his room ready to go we also got our lower level cleaned up and organized so all it needs is a new couch and it will be ready for relaxing nights watching tv, until Mr. Cameron comes and then those nights may not exist for awhile.  Haha!

Cameron's Name in the Nursery

Other updates, I had my first Baby Shower with all of my family and close family friends.  My Aunt Darlene, Aunt Brenda, and Cousin Stefanie hosted the shower and they did an amazing job.  They went with the Nautical theme of the baby's room and it was perfect.  We had a taco bar for food and it definately agreed with Mommy and Baby Cameron.  We got a lot of nice gifts and appreciate everyone's kindness and look forward to everyone meeting him.  Below are all the centerpieces my aunt did for the baby shower.

Today I had my 28 week check up and everything looked great.  My belly is measuring 28cm, blood pressure was 118/72, I only gained 4 pounds since my last visit, and Cameron's little heartbeat was good and strong at 145 bpm.  The doctor said everything looked great, and we just need to start counting his kicks and movements throughout the day and night, especially after eating dinner.  He is supposed to kick atleast 10 times an hour.  I definately think he is already doing that, but now I will start counting just to be sure he is doing what he is supposed to do.  Our next appointment is in 2 weeks, and we will continue with appointments for every 2 weeks until about 1 month out then we will go weekly.  We are getting close to D-Day.  Can't Wait!!!

I do have to inform you all of some educational learning moments for Jason on here, because he is definately still learning about this whole process.  I don't know if any of you ever watch 16 and Pregnant on MTV or Pregnant In Heels on E!, but both shows can be quite educational for the men.  On 16 and Pregnant a girl started having labor pains so they went to the hospital they induced her and they posted they she was 4 hours into labor.  Jason saw that and thought that was the longest time every.  I laughed at him and told him that was actually not very long at all and some women are in labor for 12, 24, to 48 hours of labor.  He was pretty much in shock and he thought that I pretty much go to the hospital, have the baby, and then I am all done.  Haha!!!  Then on the show Pregnant In Heels, there was a lady that was terrified of the delivery process and had a phobia of needles.  They showed her going to a childbirth class and showed the baby going through the pelvis and mentioned something about tissues tearing or the doctors cutting you.  He had no clue about that and asked what they were talking.  So I had to exlplain that to him and then he was concerned about how everything went back to normal.  I told him they stitch you back up.  I sure hope Cameron decides not to come before our Childbirth class on July 9th, because Jason definately needs to go to the class.  Well, I hope you all enjoy and I will probably post in 2 weeks after my doctors appointment.
