November 19, 2011 14 Weeks Old

It has been another busy week.  I worked Monday and Wednesday and it wasn't the best week.  We were short on staff both days and it just wasn't much fun.  Cameron was a pretty good boy for my mom both days.  Although he scratched his nose and forehead pretty bad when he was there (pictures to follow).  Wednesday night I was exhausted from a bad day at work and all I needed and thought I was going to get was a good nights sleep.  Well, that didn't happen.  Cameron just didn't sleep well.  He kept waking up and crying allowed and kept moving up against his rail.  I probably went in his room probably 4 times that night and at 5am ended up having to feed him to get him settled down.  This past week his napping routine hasn't been so good either.  He only wants to sleep for about 45 minutes and then he wakes up screaming, and then of course, if I pick him up and rock him he will go back to sleep for another 45 minutes to an hour.  I don't know how to break this cycle, because he will continue to scream and cry if I just leave him in his crib.  Ugg!  I am not sure if I have mentioned it on here yet or not, but we have been dealing with some skin issues with Cameron.  His chest and abdomen have been really dry, red, and scaly.  His arms and legs are also really rough and dry.  We have been putting mainly just oil on him for the past month and his skin really hadn't gotten any better.  So I made an appointment for Friday to get him back to see the pediatrician.  She said that he has excema and she prescribed a steroid cream to help relieve the itching and inflammation.  After one day of use his skin looks so much better already.  I really hope this takes care of the issue and he doesn't have to deal with this the rest of his life.  You can already tell that he feels better already.  My biggest challenge will be to dress him a little bit cooler than I have been.  It seems when he gets hot it gets worse as well.  He is a good boy and we love him very much.  Last night I got him laughing hysteriacally.  I was making some goofy laughing noise and he just though it was hilarious and would laugh and scream out loud.  It was too funny.  This weekend we plan on just relaxing around the house and then prepare and start packing for Cameron's first trip to Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving.  We are looking forward to it but it is definately going to be different than the past years.  I will update this once we get back and hopefully with lots of great pictures.

Cameron sound asleep while I am trying to burp him

This is what happens when Grandma watches him. He scratches his nose and forehead.

Big Boy!

Relaxing!

Cameron's skin, sometimes it looks like this or its red all over.
