The Ups and Downs of Being Preggo
The past several weeks haven't been too exciting. Last week I felt great, I had energy and was nauseaus at all. I didn't gag at all brushing my teeth in the mornings and I was able to eat more than crackers and granola bars for breakfast. I actually ate these frozen bisquits stuffed with sausage gravy made by Bob Evan's. They are pretty tasty. I was feeling so good I decided I would try and not take my Unisome at night to see if I needed it anymore for the morning sickness/all day sickness. I went without it on Friday night and felt pretty good Saturday beside a runny nose. I also went without it Saturday night. I felt okay Sunday morning besides having a headache. We were visiting Jason's family and went to church with them, and the last 15 minutes of church my head was pounding and I started to get hungry. I was trying to dig through my purse to find my Tylenol and something to snack on, but all the food items I have stuffed in my purse were too noisy to open in church, so I just toughed it out the last 15 minutes of church. After church Jason's mom made us lunch and everything was good and Jason and I headed back home. I still had my headache, but I just started not to feel good at all. We have to take a curvey road back home and once we got off that road I decided to lay down a take a nap, within 5 minutes of laying down I sat up immediately and asked Jason to hand me the grocery bag stuffed in the side of the door for emergency use only. This was definately an emergency and he was almost a second too slow. I threw up into the grocery bag and just started to cry. I absolutely hate feeling the way I did yesterday. Jason pulled over at a McDonald's so I could stop and use the restroom and he got me a Sprite to sip on the rest of the way home. We finally made it home without anymore incidents. When we arrived I immediately just layed down to take a nap hoping to get rid of the headache and the upset stomach. When I woke up the headache was still there and the upset stomach wasn't as bad as before. I ate some oyster crackers and sipped on some more Sprite. I was feeling better so I decided to have Jason cut me up an apple to eat. I probably ate half of it and I was done. I sat back down for about 5 minutes or so and my stomach decided it didn't like the apple so I ran to the kitchen and threw up all the apple I ate. I began to cry again. Vomiting and crying seem to go well together. Again I just hate feeling that way. The next problem was taking my prenatal vitamens and my Unisome. I attempted multiple times to take my prenatal vitamens and every time I put one in my mouth I instantly gagged. So I decided to take my Unisome and that went down okay, but the prenatal vitamens were going to have to go on hold til tomorrow. I fortunately woke up with only a mild headache today and got better as the day goes on. So the moral of my story is not to go cold turkey on Unisome when it just works so good. I am just going to wean myself off this slowly as long as I don't have any repeats from yesterday. UGGG!!!!!!!!!!!

String Test
Today my mom and I went to see my best friend's mom who is an RN on a high risk pregnancy floor. She has been performing the string test on many of her patients and her two oldest daughters and has been 100% on predicting what gender the baby will be. She had me lay flat and she put my wedding band on a string and dangeled it directly over where the baby should be. She held her hand really still and at first the ring didn't move at all. Slowly the ring started to move back and forth just a little bit and then it picked up speed and really started to swing back and forth. If it goes back it forth it means ITS A BOY!!! Circles means its a girl. So according to Sherry we are having a boy. We are excited to hear this, but we are still waiting to see what the Ultrasound says in 4 weeks. I talked with my mother-in-law to tell her the results of the string test and somewhat jokingly she said if the ultrasound comes back differently she is coming after Sherry. HAHA!!! So I hope Sherry's accuracy rating continues and this baby is a boy. I will let you all know in 4 weeks and show you proof with pictures.

The Morning Sickness Continues
Yesterday I thought I was getting better when it came to morning sickness. The past several days when I woke up in the morning I was able to brush my teeth without gagging and I didn't have to immediately eat my oyster crackers and drink my sprite while I was getting ready. I was wrong. I had a few sips of my sprite before I got in my car and headed to work. Usually I always eat a granola bar and drink the rest of my sprite on my way to work. Yesterday morning I got in my car and opened my granola bar when I took my first very small bite of my granola bar the taste in my mouth just didn't sit well on my stomach. I knew I was going to throw up so I tried to open my car door. That didn't work, because my car was in gear, so the doors were locked. Fortunately that morning I did not put my gloves on and I ended up throwing up into my left hand, fortunately it all fit into my hand. I made it to the first stop sign and put my car in park and opened the door and got rid of the vomit in my hands and I was lucky to also have napkins in my glove box so I could clean my hands off. I then continued on my way to work and my breakfast ended up being oyster crackers. I may never want to look at another cracker in my life once this is all over and I pray to God this doesn't continue throughout my entire pregnancy. Ugggg!!!!

Check Up!
We went to our 13th week appointment today and we got to hear the heart beat. It was between 154-160bpm, which is normal and the nurse said that the baby was very active. Jason asked the doctor if it was still normal for me to be tired and the doctor said yes. The baby takes a lot of enery right now. He also asked the doctor if it was okay for me to continue to exercise. She said yes, but only if I am not tired. She said to just do what my body is telling me to do and not to over-do-it. We will follow up in 4 more weeks and then 5 weeks from today we will get to find out if its a boy or a girl. We are just excited and I will be counting down the days until we get to find out. Below is a video so you can all hear the hearbeat. Enjoy!!!
Motherly Instinct????
So after this morning's events I was wondering when that motherly instinct really kicks in? I would really like some answers on this question. This morning I walked out into the living room getting ready to start cleaning and a came along a huge pile of dog vomit. It looked like Carson threw up his entire breakfast. If you don't know me well enough, this is a big deal for me. I just cannot tolerate picking up dog vomit or dog poop, but these days my stomach is very sensitive along with my nose. So I tried to get myself prepared. I brought the trash can over next to the large pile of vomit, brought the enitre roll of paper towels over, had a big yellow rubber glove on my right hand, and my sweatshirt over my nose. I thought I could do it. So I reached in with a wad of paper towels to pick up the pile, I got a little bit and immediately started to gag, I threw it in the trash and ran to the kitchen sick and began throwing up the orange juice that I just drank 5 minutes ago. Round 2, I try to do the same thing, but as soon as I get over there I get a whiff of the smell and run back to the kitchen sick gagging again. The next thing I do is I call Jason at work seeing if I can bring the shop vac upstairs to just suck it, but of course he doesn't answer. So I call my mom to see what she has to say. She didn't think that was a good idea since there is a filter on the shop vac. She told me to get a dust pan and to clean it up that way. Round 3, I go get a dust pan and also I went out into the garage and found some sort of tool that you spread drywall mud onto the walls with. So I have the big yellow rubber glove on my right hand, the dust pan in my right hand, the other tool in my left hand. I get one big pile of vomit into the pan and dump it in the trash and yet again I have to run to the kitchen to throw up in again. This is absolutely awful. Round 4, I return one more time to get the final pieces up and I do so, but end with me gagging again. I then immediately tied the trash up and threw it outside so I could no longer smell that stuff and also sprayed the living room with air freshener. I did also manage to actually clean the carpet with carpet cleaner and scrubb it down without gagging again. So that last part was a success in my book. So back to my question in the beginning of all this, when does motherly instinct kick in??? Because I am going to be in big time trouble if this baby comes and it doesn't kick in for me, because I don't know who will be changing diapers and vomit. Oh please help me!!!
