My little man is now 8 weeks old. I can't believe how big he is already and just all the little things he is doing. Since I last posted anything we have now implemented a schedule for him, because Thursday night was the worst night since Cameron has been born. From 5pm to almost 1am he was eating every hour, and by then end of it all, I don't think I had any milk left. I laid him down at 12:45am, he was back up at 2am, laid him down by 2:30am, then back up at 4:30am, back down by 5am, back up at 7am, down by 7:30am, and back up at 9am. He just kept crying and screaming. I was emotionally and physically exhausted. I just couldn't do another night like that. I felt like a horrible mother, because I couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Since Friday afternoon we started a schedule using the Babywise method. There is a book called Babywise that I read back in March that I forgot about until one of Jason's co-workers mentioned it to him. Basically the concept is to get them on a schedule by waking them up in the morning at the same time and then you feed them, have awake time, and then naptime and for his age it should be on a 2 1/2- 3 1/2 hour cycles. Since then he has been doing pretty good and has slept through the night. One thing that had to realize this weekend is that we just can't do everything in one day. This past weekend was the Sauerkraut festival back in my hometown and I really wanted to get there to see some friends that I haven't seen in awhile and to show off my little man. We also wanted to get the boat out both days this weekend since it was supposed to be so nice both days. The plan was to go to the festival Saturday by noon and then take the boat out afterwards. Well, Jason and I had a little bit of miscommunication. I wanted to be at the festival by noon and he thought I wanted to leave by noon. So he spent a little extra time at the gym and we ended up not leaving until 12:10pm. Then there was an accident on 71 northbound so we took a different way which took longer and didn't even get to Lebanon until 1:30ish. So we decided to go ahead and pick the boat up and then we headed to my parents house. At this point we still weren't sure if were going to go to the festival and make it boating or not. I had to feed Cameron at the house and then we finally decided to just take the boat out and then I would take Cameron to the festival Sunday morning while Jason did some things in the morning. We got the boat in the water around 3pm and we had a really good time. It felt good to be on the water and just relax a little. Cameron enjoyed it. We had to be creative though in keeping the sun off of his sensitive skin since he can't wear sunscreen until he is 6 months old. I had him in his carseat underneath the dashboard on the boat and then sometimes I would hang a towel from the dashboard over him or on the windshield of the boat. It all worked out and we all had a great time, even Carson got to go and swim too.

Sunday our plan was for me to go to the festival in the morning and then get back to the house by noon the latest to feed Cameron and get him down for a nap and then Jason would meet me there and we would take the boat back out. Once Jason got there Cameron wasn't due to wake up from his nap until 2:30pm and then he would have to eat again. We decided it was too late to get the boat back out, because we both wanted to get home earlier then 8pm like the night before. So we just put the cover on the boat and took it to my dad's store and went home. We are hoping we have another beautiful weekend like last so we can get it out one more time. We are definately looking forward to next summer so we can use it quite a bit. I also forgot to mention that Jason gave Cameron his first bottle tonight. It definately made me a little sad, but we need to do it to make sure he will be okay once I go back to work. He took the bottle just fine and ate the 4 ounces and then still acted a little hungry afterwards so I got to feed him then. Now we just need to figure out what the appropriate amount to give him when we do give him a bottle. Hopefully the pediatrician can help answer that question for us.

We definately had a busy weekend, but we also learned a lot as parents on what we can and can't do with an infant. Everyday is a learning experience, but I wouldn't have my life any other way right now. I love being a mom and wife and I am trying to be the best at both. Well, enjoy the pictures from the past weekend. Cameron goes to the pediatrician on Friday, but hopefully I will have more updates on his schedule between now and then. Enjoy!
