February 23, 2012- 6 months and 10 days!

Wow!  It has been over a month since my last post.  I apologize for it being so long.  I definitely need to do this more often, because has made so many changes since the beginning of January.  Since then Cameron took a couple of weeks off from rolling over, but last week he started it up again and rolls over from belly to back and back to belly when playing on the floor or rolls from back to belly in his crib and gets mad.  We started cereal with applesauce at the beginning of the year and then the beginning of February we started vegetables.  He has had green beans, peas, and carrots so far.  Today we start squash.  So far he has liked everything we have given him.  He is quite an eater.  Cameron no longer needs a blanket under his jumper, he can stand with his feet flat on the floor now.  Tummy time is getting better and better and he is able to move around a little bit and reach for objects that he wants to play with.  He is very ticklish and giggles and squeals.  He just cracks me up.  He has also been working on sitting up on his own just this past week.   He can probably sit up on his own for about a minute before he topples over.  He loves for you to sing to him and usually he tries to sing along with you.  He has such a great little personality.  Nap time has been a lot better this past month or so as well.  He usually takes about an hour and a half nap in the morning and at least 45 minutes or more in the afternoon and sometimes we even get a third one out of him late afternoon.  Night time is great sometimes and he sleeps through the night and other nights he cries out every 2-3 hours.  A week ago today on February 16th he got his first 2 teeth in on the bottom.  The keep coming up more and more.  He is just getting to be such a big boy.

Tuesday, February 21st he had his 6 month check up at the Pediatrician.  He weighed in at 16 pounds even and was 26 1/4 inches long.  I think they must have measured him wrong at 4 months, because I know he has grown more than 1/4inch in 2 months.  The doctor said he looked great and he was growing and developing great.  He ended up getting 4 shots.  3 were routine plus he got his first flu shot.  We will have to go back in a month to get the second one.  We also decided not to get the 3rd rotovirus vaccine since after a week of getting that at 4 months he started with those stomach pains.  So far so good he hasn't had any problems this time.  Cameron doesn't have to return until 9 months now.

Yesterday was a monumental day.  Jason worked from home and watched Cameron for the first time all day long.  Before yesterday Jason had only watched Cameron for only 2 hours.  I wrote up 2 pages of instructions the night before for Jason to follow.  It was pretty much every single thing that I do with Cameron on a daily basis.  I also had to describe how to make and warm bottles and when he should eat and sleep.  Jason said I was pretty much right on with the times he did each thing.  Jason however did have a few exciting times with him.  After calling him at lunchtime Jason ended up having to call me back, because he was changing his diaper and when he answered the phone he didn't have a diaper underneath him and Cameron started to poop on the changing pad.  So Jason had to get that cleaned up.  At lunchtime Jason was feeding Cameron carrots and he sneezed and got carrots all over himself, Jason, and the china cabinet.  So Jason had to clean that up.  I also guess that 2 other times in the afternoon Cameron pooped out of his diaper and Jason said he had poop up to his shoulder blades.  I think yesterday his poop may have been a little bit looser possibly from his vaccines, because his poop hasn't been as loose since we started the baby food.

Well, I think I have pretty much covered almost everything that has happened since the last posting.  A couple of other things.  Cameron is now able to get his toes in his mouth and absolutely loves to play with things with his toes.  He is just as talented with his feet as he is with his hands.  Cameron got his first haircut by Dad on January 15th.  Jason cut the back and sides of his hair, and now he is due for a haircut on his bangs, because they are starting to get in his eyes.  Jason and I have also listed our house for sale and have been house hunting for a larger home.  We have quickly outgrown our house.  We have found a few houses that we like, but we have to sell our house first.  Tomorrow we have our first showing, so hopefully we can sell our house quickly.  I hope you all enjoy the update and the photos.  I will try to post soon than 6 weeks from now.  Enjoy!
